A study in quiet mastery.

大将 · Itamae

Our head chef trained beneath traditional itamae in both Tokyo and Osaka before returning to Malaysia to pursue his own expression of Edomae. His hand is unhurried, his cuts deliberate, his seasoning almost imperceptibly exact — a practice refined across two decades at the counter.

At Mizu, he sources from Toyosu auctions twice weekly, pairing Japanese catches with the best of the region's seasonal bounty. The result is omakase that belongs, unmistakably, to this place — and to this moment.

Because the meal is crafted in real time at an intimate counter, we ask guests to plan ahead and arrive with an open appetite.

What is the price of the omakase?

Our omakase Petaling Jaya menus start from RM 279++ per guest, up to RM 679++ for the full seasonal experience at our Japanese restaurant Jaya One. Seasonal truffle, caviar, and wagyu additions are offered at the counter.

What is the dress code?

Smart casual, with a request for closed shoes. We kindly ask guests to avoid strong perfumes, as they interfere with the subtle seasonal aromas of the menu.

How long is the experience?

Approximately 2 hours. Our omakase PJ experience runs across three daily seatings — Lunch 12:00 PM–2:00 PM, Dinner 1 6:00 PM–8:00 PM, Dinner 2 8:30 PM–10:30 PM — Thursday through Tuesday (Wednesday closed).

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Please let us know at least 48 hours before your reservation. We can accommodate most allergies and restrictions, though vegetarian and vegan omakase must be arranged in advance.

May I bring my own sake or wine?

Corkage is available at RM 200 per bottle, unlimited. Our own list features 14 sakes and a carefully paired progression.

What is the cancellation policy?

We hold a credit card at booking. Cancellations within 48 hours incur the full omakase charge, as ingredients are sourced specifically for your seat.
